Supported Wallets on dYdX Chain
As part of its default settings, the v4 open source software (”dYdX Chain”) UI currently supports these wallets:
MetaMask: The most popular wallet on the dYdX Chain. MetaMask is a browser extension wallet available for Chrome, Brave, Firefox, and more.
Phantom (Solana): The most popular wallet on Solana. Phantom is a browser extension wallet available for Chrome, Brave, Firefox, and more. Support for Phantom (EVM) wallets have been sunset. If you've previously onboarded using Phantom (EVM), you may access your dYdX Chain address associated with that Phantom (EVM) wallet by importing that Phantom (EVM) wallet's private keys into another compatible EVM wallet supported by dYdX Chain and connecting with that.
Keplr: The most popular wallet in the Cosmos ecosystem. Keplr is a browser extension wallet available for Chrome, Brave, Firefox, and more.
WalletConnect: dYdX Chain supports any wallet that uses WalletConnect, which allows traders to connect many different mobile wallets. To connect a WalletConnect wallet, select "WalletConnect" when prompted to select your wallet type. This will display a QR code, which traders can scan using their WalletConnect-enabled wallet.
Coinbase Wallet: The mobile application Coinbase Wallet also works with dYdX Chain. It can be accessed through the Coinbase Wallet app itself or by using WalletLink, which allows traders to use the desktop version of the site while signing transactions using their phone. This is done by scanning a QR code on the site using the Coinbase Wallet app. The Coinbase Wallet browser extension is also compatible.
Email or social: Email or social login is provided by Privy to enable easy onboarding to the dYdX Chain. With Privy, you can set up a new wallet and log in using your existing email or social accounts. Learn more here.
Other Wallets: Other wallets may "just work" with dYdX Chain. However, they are not officially supported by v4 software yet. Traders can use the “Other” option to connect with other wallets. They would show up as "Web3 Wallet" once successfully connected.
FAQs
What are the differences between the non-Cosmos wallets and the Keplr wallet?
Keplr Wallet is known for its strong integration with the Cosmos ecosystem and enables users to interact seamlessly with Cosmos-based projects. On the other hand, MetaMask, Solana, etc. are more widely used and supports Ethereum or Solana-compatible networks, making it a go-to choice for users primarily operating within those ecosystems.
What can you do with a Keplr Wallet?
Does the above also apply to other Cosmos-native wallets?
Yes, although currently no other Cosmos-native wallet integrations are planned.
